On Friday, roughly two dozen passengers aboard a United Airlines flight from Vancouver, Canada, to Houston, Texas, fell ill.
According to Captain Sedrick Robinett of the Houston Fire Department, about 25 individuals out of a group of 75 reported feeling nauseous during the flight. Upon landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, HFD assessed three passengers, none of whom required hospitalization.
United Airlines confirmed that several passengers who had recently traveled on the same cruise and were feeling unwell were on Flight 1528 from Vancouver to Houston. However, the airline did not disclose which cruise line or ship the passengers had been on prior to their flight.
United Airlines stated that they are actively collaborating with health authorities to address the situation. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft will undergo thorough cleaning before resuming service, prioritizing the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.
At the time of reporting, the Houston Health Department had not issued a comment on the incident.
This event mirrors a similar situation last month when numerous passengers on a Condor flight from Mauritius to Frankfurt, Germany, reported symptoms of nausea and vomiting.
