Twitter finally gives its search function DM more attention. Nearly two years after introducing a search function at DMS on iOS and on the web, the company finally brings the update to Android.
The feature will be an “improved version” of the existing search function and will allow users to search through their DM history, not just recent messages. The company is also working on the possibility of looking for the content of the messages, rather than the sender. This update arrives “later this year”.
These may seem relatively minor updates, but the inability to effectively search for direct messages has long been a pain point for anyone strongly uses the functionality. Trying to find a message of the months or years was almost impossible unless you are ready to stop constantly scrolling over old discussions to find it. But with the new search bar, the search for Twitter DMS will be another one e-mail application.
