Mary Boyd will take over as the chief executive officer for Hiscox’s USA business unit on June 24, succeeding the outgoing CEO, Kevin Kerridge.
Aki Hussain, Group CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about Boyd’s appointment, stating, “Mary’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the insurance industry are remarkable. Her significant experience in building and leading insurance businesses in the USA, combined with her deep understanding of the U.S. customer market, will be crucial in scaling our U.S. business as we capitalize on upcoming opportunities.”
Boyd brings a rich background to Hiscox from her previous role as CEO of the independent agency business at Plymouth Rock Assurance. Her career includes leadership roles at The Hartford Insurance Company, ACE, Explorer Insurance, and Chubb.
Boyd shared her excitement for her new position, saying, “I am thrilled to join Hiscox and lead this talented team towards its next series of successes. I am energized by the opportunity to collaborate with our team to drive innovation and achieve profitable growth in this market.”
This transition follows Kerridge’s decision to step down after nearly 30 years with Hiscox, during which he played a pivotal role in the company’s digital transformation. He will continue in an advisory role until the end of September before exploring opportunities outside Hiscox.
